Mike Grummett, Executive Director
Mike Grummett is a school-improvement leader with over 20 years’ experience turning ambition into measurable gains across primary, secondary and special settings. Progressing from classroom teacher to Headteacher and Director of School Improvement, he has led multiple schools from Special Measures and Inadequate to Good and beyond - building cultures where learners progress, staff thrive, and outcomes increase.
As Executive Director, Mike partners with Trusts, Boards and local systems to align strategy, culture and execution - with inclusion at the core and practical tools leaders actually use. He has directed Trust-wide improvement across 13 academies, embedding cohesive frameworks for curriculum, assessment, behaviour and SEND, and conducting full Trust and academy reviews that give Boards diagnostic precision and actionable plans.
Mike translates evidence into weekly rhythms: clear priorities, coaching that builds leadership capacity, and dashboards that move from the classroom to the Board. He provides executive interim leadership that has impact and moves culture and practice forward, and designs exit-proof systems so impact endures.
